LCD Soundsystem Calls it Quits

Bad news everybody. As you may have heard, LCD Soundsystem is calling it quits. After some fantastic albums, James Murphy has decided to stop partying under the storied and loved LCD Soundsystem (@lcdsoundsystem) name. I’m sure, however, that he’ll still be partying. Luckily for New Yorkers, they are going out in style with the LCD Soundsystem: The Long Goodbye show at Madison Square Garden on April 2nd. According to the band’s website, there will be three hours of music, including many deep cuts, and many special guests. Liquid Liquid will be opening the show, which is an amazing occurrence worthy of news flashes in its own right. The release also politely asks that all in attendance wear, “white. Or black. Or black and white.” It’s a funeral after all. So New Yorkers, get ready to refresh that Ticketmaster page, because tickets are going on sale this Friday March 11th. The Wild Honey Pie will definitely be there, dancing, having a great time, and shedding a tear in remembrance to all those times we started the night to “Daft Punk is Playing at My House” and ended it to “All Your Friends.”
